Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need To Know

What is a baby spa?
Exactly what it sounds like: a spa for babies! In the experience, each baby will first partake in a photo session at our unique Bubble Babies photo station while wide awake, capturing adorable moments. After this, they will enjoy their own individual baby spa bath, followed by a guided nurturing wind down massage with sensory light display and soothing music, perfect for encouraging a good nap.

How long is the session?
Each session lasts 60 minutes.

Is there an age limit?
Bubble Babies welcomes babies after their 6 weeks check up to 12 months.

What should I bring to the session?
You should bring your usual changing bag items, and Bubble Babies will provide everything else you will need for your spa and massage experience.

Can I bring a 'plus one'?
You are more than welcome to bring another adult with you to the spa and massage experience. You may also bring older siblings, provided that they respect other guests' experiences.

What if my baby has just been immunised?
Please wait a minimum of 48 hours after immunisation before attending the spa and massage experience. Although we pride ourselves on how thoroughly we sanitise all of our equipment between sessions, due to the nature of the services we offer babies must wait 14 days after receiving the Rotavirus immunisation before attending a session. The Rotavirus vaccine is given orally (by mouth) at 8 and 12 weeks of age. Due to this method of administration, the virus can pass through your baby's gut and be transferred to whoever changes their nappy as well as onto surfaces.

Does my baby need to wear a swim nappy?
It is not necessary for your baby to wear a swim nappy, although you are more than welcome to put your little one in one if you prefer. We understand that accidents can happen, but all of our whirlpool baths are thoroughly cleaned between sessions in any case.

What if my baby is fussy?
The purpose of the spa and massage experience is for both parent and baby to relax and bond, so please do not worry in the slightest if your baby is fussy on the day. We understand that this is a normal part of parenting and that it is not in a baby's nature to be quiet all of the time. Regardless, we are confident that both you and your baby will still greatly benefit from the experience.

How do we use photography?
Bubble Babies does take photographs for promotional purposes. However, if you would prefer not to have any photographs taken please indicate this during the booking process using the appropriate checkbox. We also encourage you to share your own photographs of the experience via social media. We would love for you to tag us on Instagram @bubblebabies_spa_massage, and on Facebook @Bubble Babies Spa & Massage. Alternatively, send us your images so that we can post them to our social media! We just ask that you limit your photographs to your own child, bearing in mind others' right to privacy.

Can I cancel or rearrange bookings?
We do not allow cancellations, given the operating constraints of our small business. However, we will try to rearrange your session if possible, and you may also gift your session to a friend or family member, providing that you contact Bubble Babies at least 24 hours in advance at hello@bubblebabies.co.uk to notify us.

What is in your massage oil?
We currently use sunflower and grapeseed in our massage oil. If this is not to your liking, or if you have a different preference, you are welcome to bring your own massage oil.

What if my baby has a skin condition such as eczema?
We use eczema-friendly massage oils in our spa and massage experience. However, we also ask that you do a patch test on your baby before starting the massage in order to avoid any kind of adverse reaction. You are also welcome to bring your own massage oil or lotion if you have one that you already use regularly and are happy with.

What measures are you taking in relation to Covid-19?
We see a maximum of four babies at one time in our spa and massage sessions, and our stations are placed at a minimum of two metres apart. We also provide sanitisation facilities, and all towels, robes and flannels are washed after every use, as are all baths and accessories.
